Op-Amp

An operational amplifier is a high-gain differential amplifier whose behaviour is set by the external resistors and capacitors around it. Circuits on this page cover the standard configurations: inverting and non-inverting amplifiers whose gain follows the resistor ratio, summing amplifiers and digital-to-analog converters, differentiators and integrators, comparators, and oscillators such as the Wien bridge and triangle or sawtooth wave generators. For example, "Inverting Operational Amplifier" sets the gain with two resistors and checks the output voltage with a multimeter.
