Lamp

The incandescent lamp in the simulator glows brighter as more power flows through its filament, which makes it a quick visual indicator of current. Lamps are the standard load in introductory circuits, used to compare brightness in series and parallel, to show that one broken bulb stops a series string, to act as the load switched by a relay or transistor, and on an AC supply to show the effect of rectification. For example, "Lamp-flashing circuit." combines a lamp and a diode on an alternating source.
